Note that this does not refer to the Publicly Available Information that is searchable on our site.

Unless otherwise set forth in your Contract with Shamed, if you wish to terminate your account, please email Shamed, but note that we may retain cached or archived copies of your information to provide you services and to process your information as requested by you. We will retain and use your information to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

  • User Ability to Download/Suppress Publicly Available Information
    We may share your Publicly Available Information with other users of our Site when they conduct a search on our Site.
  • Third-Party Sites
    The Site may contain links to websites not operated by Shamed. Shamed shall not be responsible for such websites. You should review the policies of each site you visit. Please also note that information posted to chat rooms and other forums accessed through the Site may be available to the general public.
  • Updates and Changes to Privacy Policy
    Shamed expressly reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy by posting an updated Privacy Policy to the Site which shall be effective and supersede any prior policy immediately upon posting.  Your continued use of the Site acts as your acquiescence to the updated policy.
  • NOTICE TO RESIDENTS OF CALIFORNIA, VIRGINIA, CONNECTICUT, UTAH, AND COLORADO: Additional privacy policies, specifically developed and maintained for residents of California, Virginia, Connecticut, Utah, and Colorado, are found within this Privacy Policy. iii. Sharing of Personal Information

Shamed may share the names and email addresses of users with third party affiliates (“Referral Affiliates”) to use for their independent marketing purposes: Shamed may receive compensation from said Referral Affiliates if you use their services. You can opt out by contacting us. If you are a resident of Texas we may sell your sensitive personal data.

  • Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law, if you are a resident of California, Virginia, Connecticut, Utah, or Colorado, you may have the following rights:

  • To Access: to obtain a copy of the specific pieces of Personal Information we have collected about you.
  • Deletion: to request that Shamed delete your Personal Information to the extent Shamed is permitted to delete it by applicable law.
  • Opt-Out of “Sale” and Certain Sharing Practices: you have the right to opt-out of certain information sharing practices with third parties who do not act as our service providers. In some states, like California, this information sharing may qualify as a “share” or a “sale,” while in other states, like Virginia, this information sharing may qualify as “targeted advertising” (collectively, “personalized advertising”). If you wish to opt-out of personalized advertising, you can opt out of said sharing by contacting us.
  • Correction: to request the correction of inaccurate Personal Information that we may have on file about you.  This right is limited to Shamed’s verification of the information you seek to correct.
  • Verification and Appeal Process: We are required by law to take reasonable steps to verify your identity prior to responding to your request. In order to do so we may verify your request by asking for information sufficient to confirm your identity. Requests may be granted in whole, in part, or not at all, depending on the scope and nature of the request and as permitted by applicable law. If you are a resident of Colorado, Virginia, or Connecticut, you have the right to appeal a request we deny when we have verified your identity and still decline to honor your request.
  • Authorized Agent:Depending on where you live, you may have the right to use an authorized agent on your behalf to exercise a privacy right discussed above. In order to act as an authorized agent you must be able to demonstrate that you have the requisite authorization to act on behalf of the user.

 

  • Shine the Light Disclosure:California residents are entitled to ask us for a notice that identifies the categories of Personal Information that we share with our affiliates and/or third parties for marketing purposes, and provides contact information for such affiliates and/or third parties.
